Lawyers boycott courts

The Lawyers on Friday continued their token protest by observing hunger strike and one hour boycott of courts against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan here on Friday. The lawyers who boycotted the courts also wore black ribbons to register their protest against the suspension of CJP.
Two hunger strike camps were set up in Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA)'s premises by Save Judiciary Committee (SJC) and LHCBA. The Lahore Bar Association also set up a camp at Aiwan-e-Adal. At the hunger strike camps, a number of lawyers including convenor SJC Abdul Rashid Qureshi, Secretary LHCBA Sarfraz Ahmad Cheema, Finance Secretary Ruby Hayat Awan, Muhammad Azhar Siddique, Mian Jamil Akhtar, Tayyaba Zamir Qureshi, Rana Tanvir and Raja Zulqarnain joined it.
President LHCBA Ahsan Bhoon, former president Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari, and various leaders of political parties visited the hunger strike camp.
