Income Tax Commissioner, Islamabad zone, Aziz Ahmed Bilour has said the government would make all out efforts to increase the number of taxpayers and the next fiscal will be the 'tax net broadened year.'
He was speaking at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) where he was invited by the President Nasir Khan to resolve audit and other tax related issues.
Bilour emphasised on creating liaison between taxpayers and tax collectors so that their problems should be resolved amicably. He was also of the view that the total numbers of direct taxpayers are 1.7 million and CBR received 40 percent of revenue of the country from them.
"Now business community and tax department, traders and industrialists have cordial relations and can resolve their problems without any fear," Bilour added. He mentioned that ICCI would play role of a bridge between tax department and traders. A large number of business community attended the meeting.
