Quetta gas transmission pipeline passing through Bolan River bed between Dhadar and Gokart ruptured at 1405 hours on Wednesday due to flash flood caused by heavy rains in the catchment area. The road leading to rupture site has also been damaged and the pipeline is inaccessible.
A Sui Southern Gas Company spokesman said adding the SSGC would attempt repairs as soon as the area becomes accessible. Meanwhile, gas supply to Quetta, Mastung, Pashin, Qalat, Ziarat and enroute villages is being supplied from available line pack between Abe-gum and Quetta.
SSGC has requested consumers to cooperate with the company in this situation, as gas supplies to above areas would be suspended until SSGC repair crews could gain safe access to the pipeline.
