Independence Day programmes: Pakistan and India urged to issue visas
Pak-India Peace Initiative (PIPI) has urged Pakistan and Indian governments to issue visas for celebrating Independence Day programmes, scheduled on August 14 and 15 respectively.
While talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, President PIPI, Awais Sheikh said that PIPI would celebrate Independence Day jointly to strengthening Pak-India relations.
He said that PIPI would specially invite political leaders including Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Imran Khan, Maulana Fazul-ur-Rehman, Asfand Yar Wali, Mir Zafar Ullah Jamali and Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri to participate in this programme.
He hoped that both countries would complete their dialogue on Kashmir issue soon. Former ambassador B P Agarwal, Senior Journalist Dr Israr Sultan Puri, Chairman United Muslim Front Dr Baseer Ahmad, Satya Pal of SAF, Sandeep Marwa, President Asain Academy of Film & TV and Charan Jeet Singh of India Peoples Form from India will participate, he added. He further demanded the governments of Pakistan and India to open visa offices at Karachi, Mumbai, Lahore and Amritsar.
