The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders MNA Memona Hashmi and MNA Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan have said that any one trying to negotiate a deal with President Pervez Musharraf at this stage would only be jumping on his sinking boat to commit a political suicide.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, they said free and fair elections were not possible under the Musharraf regime, and if held, Pakistan would get into more difficulties.
Replying to questions about Benazir Bhutto, Memona Hashmi said although the PPP chairperson had indicated that she would not be able to attend the All Parties Conference (APC). They said that the present lawyers-driven movement was also the result of the seven-year struggle and sacrifices by political parties for restoration of rule of law and democracy in the country.
