According to latest media reports, the minister, who is a senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), appeared in the court today where he filed his bail application.
Last week, a bench at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted him a protective bail after he filed surety bonds worth two million rupees.
Memon is facing corruption allegations worth Rs 5 billion and Rs 77 crores, while he had announced to face all the charges.
Earlier, the NAB chairman had filed a reference against Memon in connection with alleged misconduct in payments regarding advertising campaigns.
On March 18, the former minister was briefly detained by officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB)Â at the Islamabad airport as he arrived in Pakistan from Dubai, after ending his self-exile.
