Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said here on Monday that since Pakistan was the frontline state in fight against terrorism, both Pakistan and China had very good cooperation as regards sharing of information and learning from experience of each other.
On arrival at Beijing capital airport, he was received by senior officials of Chinese Ministry of Public Security, Pakistan Ambassador to China Salman Bashir and officials of Pakistan mission here. Talking to APP, the Interior Minster said the objective of his visit was to expand the scope of cooperation between the two ministries as far as the security issues were concerned.
Lauding Chinese assistance, including provision of equipment to Pakistan, the Interior Minister said it would be helpful in capacity building of our police. He said China was working on a number of mega projects in Pakistan, besides having excellent trade relations, adding that China was also investing in a big way.
The Ministry of Interior would ensure that Chinese living in Pakistan were safe and secure, he said. Sherpao is scheduled to hold meeting with his Chinese counterpart Zhou Yongkan on Tuesday. He is also scheduled to visit Niu Jie police station, where he would be briefed on the working of police in China.
