The outlook for Philippine inflation is benign although it may rise later in the year, the country's central bank governor said on Saturday. Amando Tetangco said base effects and value-added tax were expected to lead to an uptick in inflation later this year.
"The overall inflation outlook remains benign," he told reporters on the sidelines of Bank for International Settlements meetings.
