Corps Commander Lahore, Lieutenant General Shafaat Ullah Shah, has urged the officers and Jawans to hone their professional skills by making best use of the combat oriented training being imparted to them as part of the Summer Collective Training programme.
He was talking informally to the troops during his visit to the exercise area in the outer parameters of Lahore on Saturday. Lieutenant General Shafaat Ullah emphasised the significance of operational preparedness in attaining impenetrable shield and irresistible sword capability and said that continuous training was the hallmark of a competent fighting outfit.
Appreciating the morale of the troops despite extreme hot climate, the corps commander said that the valiant soldiers of Pakistan Army are second to none and have braved against the odds in defending the motherland even in the scorching deserts of Thar and the freezing blizzards at Siachen.
Earlier, on his arrival at the field formation headquarters, Corps Commander Safaat Ullah Shah who was accompanied by General Officer Commanding, Major General Shaukat Sultan Khan were given detailed briefing by respective commander on the setting and layout of the exercise.
The corps commander commended the standard of professional skills attained by the officers and Jawans and lauded the contributions being made by battalions for community welfare projects for rural population in their respective locations for training. The Pakistan Army units besides being engaged in outdoor training activity routinely contribute in the renovation and repair of educational institutions and basic health units based in the close vicinity of the exercise areas.
