The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has evolved an integrated phased plan for extending quality professional and general education in various disciplines harmonious to the needs of the modern era with the allocation of an attractive portion of the new fiscal year 2007-08 AJK budget announced on Thursday, official sources said.
The sources told APP here on Friday that the plan involved the construction of a mega university of international level in Mirpur. The state government has already initiated preliminary measures for the establishment of a university in the area.
The consolidation, restructuring and modern technique will be the foremost priorities to ensure the provision of the college-level quality professional studies of various faculties as well as general education in all the campuses of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University.
The sources continued that special measures are taken by AJK government for the promotion of English language in the offices and schools and also development of regional languages. The sources further stated that under the latest information technology education uplift plan, the classes of latest computer literacy programmes have been launched simultaneously by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir University in its all the four main colleges campuses of different professional education in AJK.
