Pakistan National Heart Association (Panha) will set up model cardiac clinics all over the country along with a Panha House to create awareness among the people about prevention of heart diseases.
"Panha House would be built very soon while one model clinic was being established in Rawalpindi on pilot basis", said Major General Masoodur Rehman (Retd), president, Panha here on Friday while addressing a press conference.
He said that heart disease has become an epidemic in Pakistan and other third world countries. Same was the case of Europe and America, but they controlled the situation by adopting preventive measures.
"We have to take immediate measures to control this evil and make sure that preventive measures are adopted by every individual", General Masood (Retd), former commandant of Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology said. He was of the view that simple diet, exercise and tension and smoke-free atmosphere would help reduce the risk of heart diseases. People should be given proper know-how about the preventive measures, which need a proper trained force, he said.
