Consumer Foundation (CF) has termed the federal budget as an 'election slogan' by the government failing to provide the public with relief in its eight years tenure, said a press release issued here the other day.
Huma Bukhari, president CF, and Shaikh Rashid Aalum- secretary general FC in a joint statement said that provision of a few essential items on lower rates at the government run utility stores would help arrest the increasing inflation.
They said that government's claim to establish 5000 utility stores in only four months across the country was mere an 'eye wash' and government was not serious to resolve public problems.
"Public is faced with health, transport and potable water problems besides other severe hardships in their daily lives," they added. They said that government was required to evolve an extensive long term economic policy could bring about prosperity in the country, adding that 15 percent increase in salaries was unacceptable in the face of high inflation.-PR
