A division bench of High Court of Sindh Wednesday granted permission to chief of Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party (STPP), Dr Qadir Magsi to proceed abroad for a period of two months.
The bench consisting of Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali and Justice Ms Qaiser Iqbal was hearing a constitution petition challenging inclusion of petitioner's name in ECL (Exit Control List). The bench also directed him to furnish the surety of Rs 0.5 million. Earlier Noor Naz Agha advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that the name of the petitioner was placed on the ECL in 1989, on account of his alleged involvement in anti-state activities.
The counsel justifying the prayer argued that petitioner intends to leave the country to get medical treatment and to attend a number of conferences abroad.
