The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) and a Swedish company, under public-private partnership, will install a 40 megawatts power plant in Dhabeji. The Swedish firm would invest $100 million.
The plant would start giving production in two years, company representative Ansar Zafar told City Nazim Mustafa Kamal in a meeting in his office here on Wednesday.
The KWSB at present receives 21 megawatts power for Dhabeji pumping station from Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) but after installing this plant the Board would not only save the amount it spends on power but would also sell extra power worth millions, he said. KWSB Managing Director Ghulam Arif and other officers of the Board were also present on the occasion.-PR
