Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Algeria and both the countries are tied together in the eternal bonds of religion, history and culture.
The Speaker expressed these views while talking to 9-member Algerian Parliamentary delegation led by the Chairman of the Algerian Senate, Abdel Kader Ben Salah here on Tuesday. The Speaker said that Pakistan and Algeria have close relations and both the countries have common perceptions and views on global issues. He said that there was immense potential to further strengthen the existing fraternal relations between the two countries.
He underlined the need for enhancing exchange of delegations from all walks of life between the two brotherly nations. He also apprised the Algerian delegation of the working of democratic institutions in Pakistan. Chaudhry Amir apprised the delegation about the role Pakistan was playing in war against terrorism and extremism.
He underlined the need for the Muslim world to shun extremism and adopt moderation and acquire modern technology. He also underlined the need for closer unity amongst the Muslim countries and strengthening of OIC.
Leader of the delegation Abdel Kader Bio Salah said that he was impressed by the progress Pakistan was making in all fields of life. He also appreciated Pakistan's role in war against terrorism and its initiatives for peace in the region. He underlined the need for greater economic cooperation between the two countries. The leader of the delegation said that there was need for unity in the Ummah to meet the challenges confronting the Muslim world.
