On the appeal of District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, Tajpura Citizen Community Board has agreed to construct double storied building for Government Boys High School, over a 24 kanal piece of land at Tajpura.
The nazim, accompanied by Punjab Tourism Minister Mian Muhammad Alsam Iqbal, visited the school site on Tuesday and assured the CCB of all possible financial and technical assistance for accomplishing this project, which would cost Rs 30 million.
The citizen community board (CCB) would share Rs 6 million for this noble cause besides running the school through its own expense. The CCB has also agreed to bear expenses for running the local high school for girls as well as the under construction dispensary in the area.
Mian Amer Mahmood appreciated the humanitarian spirit of the CCB members and assured them of all possible co-operation in their mission. He observed that the affluent could express their gratitude to Almighty Allah by setting up and running educational institutions for imparting quality education to the off springs of their less privileged fellow citizens.
"Those who have adopted 400 schools of the city were doing a meritorious service because they have provided future to thousands of families in the city," he added.
The nazim revealed that construction of second floor of local Girls High School, costing Rs 8.5 million, would commence very soon for catering to the educational requirements of local population.
