The commercial, private banks and specialised banks have achieved 89 percent target of agricultural loan disbursement during first eleven months (July-May) of the current fiscal.
Latest data made available by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) shows that banks have achieved 89 percent disbursement target by disbursing Rs 141.797 billion agri loans during July-May of the current fiscal against the target of Rs 160 billion.
Five commercial banks including Allied Bank Limited (ABL), MAB bank, National Bank Limited (NBP), Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and United Bank Limited (UBL) have achieved 85 percent target. These banks have disbursed Rs 68.029 billion during the first eleven months against the target of Rs 80 billion for the current fiscal.
MCB Bank and ABL have achieved their targets during the first eleven months of current fiscal. ABL has disbursed Rs 7.095 million against the target of Rs 6 billion and MCB bank has achieved target by disbursing Rs 12.723 billion during July-May 2007-08 against the target of Rs 9 billion for the current fiscal.
HBL and NBL have contributed Rs 16.837 billion and Rs 23.405 billion respectively during the eleven months of the current fiscal, while the agri credit target of HBL and NBL stood at 25 billion and Rs 28 billion for the fiscal year 2007-08.
UBL has achieved 64 percent target by disbursing Rs 7.964 billion during July-May of the current fiscal against the target of Rs 12 billion in 2007-08. ZBTL has achieved 98 percent target, as it has disbursed Rs 47.003 billion agri loans during July-May against the target of Rs 48 billion, while the Punjab Provincial Cooperative Credit Bank has disbursed Rs 5.978 billion and have achieved 66 percent target.
Similarly, 14 private banks have disbursed Rs 20.788 billion in the account of agri loan by achieving 90 percent target during the first eleven month of the current fiscal. Overall target of private banks stands at Rs 23 billion for the current fiscal.
