Supreme Court asks police to recover Bheel's family in two weeks
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court here on Monday directed the Sindh Police to recover the family of Munno Bheel within two weeks. The court will hear the case again after a fortnight. The bench comprising Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Falak Sher expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the police in the case.
The bench said it did not want to summon the IG Sindh Police and his deputy but would give the police the last warning to recover the allegedly kidnapped family members of 'hari' Muno Bheel.
As the Additional Advocate General Sindh Khalid Mehmood informed the court that police had arrested a person namely Lalo. The court observed that police claimed making arrests but there was no headway in recovery efforts. District Police Officer Mirpurkhas, Abdullah Shaikh, informed the court that one Abdur Rehman Mari has been arrested while Azam Khaskhel had gone underground and search for his arrest was underway.
Ikram Chaudhry, counsel of DIG Sindh Salimullah, informed the court that he had filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court apprehending that his client, who has been freed in one case, might be arrested in another. The bench told him to submit power of attorney in the case.
