Algerian parliamentary team due today

A seven-member Algerian Parliamentary delegation, led by President of the Council of Nation (Senate) of Algeria Abedelkader Bensalah, is arriving here on Sunday (June 17) on a weeklong visit to Pakistan. The invitation to Algerian Senate chief was extended by Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro.
The delegation would comprise Vice President of the Council of the Nation (Senate), Badreddine Salem, Senators Abedelkadir Kemoune, Amar Mehdi, Nacer Boudache, Farid Hebbaz and Secretary General of the Council of the Nation Hafnaoui Amrani.
The delegation would meet Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and Speaker of the National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain and to discuss the possibilities of enhancing parliamentary co-operation between the two countries, besides finding out ways and means to give a boost to the bilateral ties in different fields. The delegates would also meet Chief Ministers of Punjab and Sindh and Governors of NWFP and Sindh.
Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool would host a reception in honour of the Algerian guests. The delegation would hold meetings with MPs, prominent businessmen and investors. Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs would also hold a reception in honour of the visiting delegation. During its short stay in Lahore, the delegation would also visit Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort and Shalamar Gardens.
