The control of canal system of three districts of lower Sindh- Badin, Thatta and Tando Muhammad Khan has been handed over to 31st Wing of Rangers. Wing Commander Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah has summoned meeting of related executive engineers of canals to chalk out strategy to ensure supply of water up to tail end of canals.
According to a release of district government, three canals of Badin, Akram Wah, Goni Wah, Phuleli Division and Naseer Division's control has been handed over. In this regard 100 men of Pakistan Rangers including two officers and inspectors will work along with executive engineers and taking control of illegally installed pipes, machines and other equipment will ensure supply of water to tail end.
They will also take action against those defaulters who have not yet paid arrears. Wing Commander informed that raids would be launched from June 18 and any kind of pressure or influence will not be accepted. The growers are also asked to revamp their respective watercourses and remove all illegal pipes and motors otherwise strict action would be taken.
