Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) is being constituted soon in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to streamline the working and performance of the hospitals running in the private sector harmonious to the need of modern age.
The private-sector hospitals and clinics are being proposed, to give the status of industry across AJK after their formal registration by the proposed Health Regulatory Authority (HRA), official sources said here on Saturday.
The sources revealed that the idea for emergence of the HRA was being moved in the AJK Legislative Assembly for legislation. All the existing and future private-sector hospitals would be bound to get themselves registered with the Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) for their formal proper working in line with the rules and regulations to be promulgated.
The sources further disclosed that three-pronged strategy has been introduced for the promotion of the specialist doctors working in the public sector hospitals in AJK.
The government has decided to create at least 13 posts of specialist doctors of grade-20. The specialist medics of different diseases were also being posted in all public sector hospitals working at tehsil headquarters all over AJK aimed at to extend quality medical facilities to the masses at tehsil headquarters side by side the DHQ hospitals.
The AJK government has also decided to elevate at least 44 doctors of BPS of grade-18 to next grade and three grade 19 doctors are being stepped up to next grade in AJK.
The district headquarter hospitals at Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot are being elevated to the status of divisional headquarter, the sources said. These hospitals will be renovated under attractive face-life programme besides to equip them with latest equipment in line with the modern medical and surgery requirements.
