Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC), Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, took oath as acting Governor of NWFP at governor's house here on Saturday. Senior Judge of the PHC, Justice Shahjehan Khan, administered the oath. NWFP Governor, Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Khan Aurakzai (Retd), is on a visit abroad.
Later, the acting Governor Justice Tariq Parvez Khan administered oath to Justice Shahjehan Khan as acting Chief Justice of PHC. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Chief Minister Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani, judges of Peshawar High Court, Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor, Inspector General of Police Muhammad Sharif Virk, Peshawar District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali, senior government officials and some other senior lawyers.
