Former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that the visit of US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher was a scheduled trip and there is nothing more than that attached to his visit. In an interview with a private TV channel he said that Pakistan and the US interact with each other as independent and sovereign nations.
The bond of co-operation with the US started with the visit of Liaquat Ali Khan to Washington, he said. "During our fifty years of co-operation, Pakistan and the US have experienced many highs and lows", he added.
About the Boucher's visit to the Election Commission, the former Prime Minister said he does not know the purpose of his visit to the Election Commission. "It might be a routine visit," he observed.
To another query, Jamali said politics and personal relations are two different things, adding he might have some political differences with PML-Q but categorically stated that he has no any personal differences with either PML President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain or President Pervez Musharraf.
