Senate body approves The Alternative Dispute Resolution Bill, 2017

The committee decided to postpone the matter of approval of bills for declaring the regional languages as national languages until next meeting.

Senator Sassui Palijo and Ejaz Dhamra had moved the bill in the house to declare Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtu and Balochi as regional languages while PPP Senator Dr. Kareem Khawaja had also included Saraiki, Hindku and Baravi in the bill.

The senate body met here under the chairmanship of Senator Javed Abbasi and attended by other members.

The committee accepted the suggestions of the government regarding the amendments in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law of pre bargaining. The body agreed on it that pre bargaining and volunteer return cases must be link with the court orders.

The committee recommended that the person getting relief from pre bargaining policy would be disqualified for any public sector posting for life.

The body discussed the matter related to the bill for

declaring the regional languages as national language.

Senator Sussi Palijo the mover of the bill said that she had no objection if other languages were also included in the bill other than the Pashtu, Punjabi, Sindhi and Balochi.

Senator Kareem Dhamra said that other three languages including Saraiki, Hindku and Baravi should also be declared as national languages. Senator Usman Khan Kakar also supported the bill.

Muzafar Shah said that both bills should be clipped and approved.

The committee agreed that there was no need to make sub- committee. The Chairman of the committee observed that the body would review this matter in next meeting.
