The Karachi Port handled 72,126 tonnes cargo including 34,934 tonnes import, 37,192 tonnes export cargo and 2,616 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 62,526 tonnes dry cargo including 40,131 tonnes general cargo; 572 tonnes iron scrap; 11,600 tonnes coal; 5,675 tonnes cement; 4,548 tonnes rock phosphate and 9,600 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Hyundai Highway, Afamia, Yick Lee and Evdoxia sailed out to sea during the report period.
Three vessels viz Y M Fortune, San Jiang Kou and Eagle Mil Waukse are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Nyzdan, Pacific Arrow, Nipos and Apl Esteem expected to sail on Friday, while four vessels viz Maersk Willow, Pacific Highway, Eagle Mil Waukse and Islamabad, expected to sail on Saturday.
Six vessels viz Al-Maqwa, Oel Shreyas, Ltc Calvin P. Titas, Emirates Jumeirah, Maersk Willow and B. Europe due to arrive on Friday, while five ships namely Jumeirah, Soon Fu, Oel Victory, Tower Bridge and Igwt are due to arrive on Saturday.
Six vessels viz C.V. MSC Pride, C.V. Al-Wajba, M.V. Khairpur, M.T. Spruce Galaxy, M.V. BBC Asia and M.V. Adhua are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, edible oil, general cargo and iron ore respectively during last 24 hours. Four ships namely CSAN Ningbo, CMA CGM Turkey, Poppi and New Seto Kaze due to take berths at Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal and Fotco Terminal respectively on Friday.
Five vessels viz C.V. MSC Socotra, C.V. Pacheco, C.V. MSC Zenzibar, M.T. Al-Maqwa and M.T. Doris with containers, edible oil and diesel oil due to arrive on Friday, while two more ships namely C.V. MSC Nederland and M.T. Despina with containers and diesel oil are due to arrive on Saturday.
