To counter the affects of greenhouse gases, global warming, Airblue has planned to plant trees at all its domestic and international destinations. Since air transport is one of the contributors to greenhouse gases, efforts are now being made globally to protect humanity coming to harm.
Airblue thus becomes the first airline in Pakistan to be part of this effort. An environment-friendly airline, Airblue's tree plantation campaign would coincide with its third anniversary being celebrated on June 16. It plans to plant more than 15,000 trees in the coming year.
Airblue Commercial Director Syed Nasir Ali said that efforts were required by more and more organisations to help build a green and healthy environment for the generations to come. Airlines in the next 50 years are expected to contribute upto three percent emissions containing CO2, H2O and NO2.-PR
