Unidentified gunmen ambushed a van carrying security personnel in Quetta on Thursday, killing nine people and wounding four, police said. Eight soldiers and one policemen were killed in the attack outside the railway station, they said.
Senior police official Rehmatunna Niazi blamed tribal men fighting for a greater share of Balochistan's vast mineral wealth. "We suspect involvement of the miscreants who have been involved in previous attacks," he told AFP.
