Tight supplies pushed the prices of a few items higher on the grain market on Wednesday in slow trading, dealers said. On the seed side Irri-6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1650 and the good type was up by Rs 30 to Rs 1680 amid strong demand, they said.
Sugar, however, inferior type shed Rs 30 to Rs 2550 while the better type maintained the overnight level at Rs 2680, they said. On the cereals side most of the commodity items did not show any variation in process of trading, except makai, inferior type that gained Rs 25 to Rs 1175 while the good type retained its overnight level, they said.
After showing sharp fluctuations in grams prices on Tuesday, the rates were held at their overnight levels due to balanced demand and supply factor, they said.
