HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks fell Monday in line with a regional sell-off as Donald Trump's failure to push through his health care bill raised questions about his chances of passing tough tax reform and spending measures.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.68 percent, or 164.57 points, to end at 24,193.70.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.08 percent, or 2.49 points, lower at 3,266.96. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.36 percent, or 7.33 points, to 2,039.41.
