Earth hour observed in Karachi with turning off non-essential lights

The non-essential lights of important buildings in the metropolis were also switched off from 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. as a symbol for commitment to the planet.

In Karachi the buildings included Frere Hall, Sindh Assembly, Governor House, Chief Minister House, and other government and private buildings.

The people also turned off their non-essential lights during the period to mark the Earth Hour.
