PEMRA for widely publicizing LHC decision on transgenders column

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Friday instructed managements of private television channels and FM radios to widely publicize the decision of the Lahore High Court to add a column for transgenders in the form number 2 of census.

The court gave the verdict while hearing a petition, a PEMRA press release said.

The court ordered that the field staff of the Statistics Division should enter the data of transgenders during the counting of population from March 18.
