Updated 15 Mar, 2017

Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Selector Inzamam-ul Haq informed that out of 32 players which were selected for the board's training camp, only Umar Akmal failed to clear the fitness test.

"Any player who failed to clear fitness test would not be selected," said Inzamam, while speaking to the media. Whereas, Umar's elder sibling Kamran Akmal and opening batsman Ahmad Shahzad have made a comeback to the T20 and ODI squads, thanks to brilliant performances in the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017.

Furthermore, PSL's emerging talents Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan have been picked for both the T20 and ODI squads. While, fast bowlers Usman Khan Shinwari and Rumman Raees have also made into the T20 squad.

Fast bowler Muhammad Amir was not selected for the T20 squad, Inzamam informed that the fast bowler has been rested.

"We have tried to give chance to the new players," said Inzamam ul Haq, while speaking to the media. He said that any sort of disciplinary issues would not be tolerated and the player would not make into the team.

Pakistan will play four T20Is, three ODIs and three Test matches during the tour of West Indies starting later this month.
