BANGALORE: Opener Lokesh Rahul was unbeaten on 48 as India reached 72 for two at lunch on the opening day of the second Test against a probing Australia bowling attack in Bangalore on Saturday.

Rahul put on 61 runs for the second wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara (17) before off-spinner Nathan Lyon broke the stand with Pujara's wicket and lunch was called.

Paceman Mitchell Starc got opener Abhibnav Mukund for nought after India, who trail the four-match series 1-0, elected to bat at Bangalore's M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
