Released fishermen reach Karachi Cantt Station

KARACHI: Around 18 Pakistani fishermen released from Indian jail arrived here by train on Friday.

The Provincial Minister for Fisheries Mohammed Ali Malkani and DCO Pakistan Railway Karachi Nasir Nazir received and welcomed the group of freed fishermen at Cantonment station.

These fishermen onboard boat No.18693B from Sujawal district of Sindh, had been held in India for violating territorial waters on May 12, 2016.

The released fishermen included Ghulam Mohammed, Khuda Bux, Abbas, Yaseen, Sadam, Massi, Khan Mohammed, Bashir, Sikander, Qasim, Suleman, Khiar Muhammed and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister thanked India government over the goodwill gesture and said that same will also be reciprocated.

He also demanded release of remaining Pakistani fishermen languishing in Indian prisons.
