Government fully committed to fight terrorism: Riaz Pirzada

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada Saturday said the government was fully committed to fight against terrorism and was utilizing all resources to root it out from country.

He said that Pakistan Super League (PSL) final would likely be held in Lahore to encourage sports in the country and give a clear message to enemies that they would never succeed in their nefarious designs.

Addressing inaugural ceremony of Model Tent Pegging Islamabad Cup here at Pakistan Sports Complex, he said that there was excessive talent in Pakistan and they did not only endeavour to nurture sportsmen but also hunt the capable youth from grass root level to get best results.

The minister said that tent pegging is our traditional sport and a healthy activity for youngsters, adding that the government would offer every possible assistance to them for their bright future.

Later, kicking off the West Asia Base Ball Cup, being commenced at Sports Board Complex, he welcomed the five national and international teams participating in the moot.

He assured the national and international players that fool proof security would be ensured for their safety and all the matches would be held according to schedule peacefully.

The two-day tent pegging competition would conclude on Sunday in which as many as 100 clubs are participating in the competition.

Whereas in base ball cup, teams of Srilanka, Nepal, Iran, Iraq and host Pakistan are taking part.

Semi-final of baseball cup would be played on February 28 (Tuesday) and the final is scheduled on March 1, (Wednesday).
