Sindh govt issues high security alert in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Thursday directed Law enforcement agencies and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to remain on high alert in in the metropolis to protect exit and entry points of the city.

The directives have been issued in the light of intelligence that terrorists were planning to target the Sindh High Court, Sindh Assembly, Empress Market, Zainab Market, markets along M A Jinnah Road and restaurants at Do Darya in very near future.

An alert had been issued by the Home Department to the authorities concerned to take stringent security measures.

The law enforcement agencies and intelligence had been directed to check vehicles entering into the city, home department sources said.
