PM Nawaz Sharif keen for development of GB: Barjees Tahir

GILGIT: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Barjees Tahir on Wednesday said the Prime Minister Muhmmad Nawaz Sharif was taking keen interest to bring GB at par with developed parts of the country.

GILGIT: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Barjees Tahir on Wednesday said the Prime Minister Muhmmad Nawaz Sharif was taking keen interest to bring GB at par with developed parts of the country.

Presiding over a high level meeting of PSDP projects in Gilgit-Baltistan held here at Chief Secretary conference hall, he said there wouldn't be shortage of funds and required funds were being released for the development projects.

He said Federal government was implementing a large number of projects in the province.

Earlier, the meeting reviewed on-going projects under PSDP and decided to device mechanism to speed up work on the projects.

Later federal minister paid a site visit to Naltar and inspected 16 Mega watt power project and 14 mw power project.

Chief Secretary GB Tahir Hussain and other relevant secretaries gave detailed briefing to Federal Minister regarding seven main PSDP projects in GB.
