Gladiators post148 runs against Islamabad United

The Quetta Gladiators, batting first were off to a flying start, after the opening pair of Asad Shafiq and Ahmed Shahzad minted 35 runs, before Muhammad Sami claimed two back to back wickets in the fifth over, first Shahzad was caught by Zohaib Khan on 26, then Kevin Pietersen was lbw by Sami on naught.

Asad Shafiq rearguard action added runs on the Quetta Gladiators board. However, Gladiators continued to lose wickets at the other end.

In form Proteas batsman, Rilee Rossouw failed to impress this time around, after going out cheaply at 7, falling to Shane Watson in the tenth over. Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed fell on 12 after he was caught by wicketkeeper Brad Haddin on Rumman Raees delivery in the 13th over.

Asad Shafiq, the top scorer for Quetta with 45 runs, was sent back to the pavilion after he was bowled out by Watson.

The lower middle order of Mahmudullah and Thisara Parera continued to pile up runs sharing a partnership of 46 runs. Mahmudullah made 29 runs while Parera add 27 on the scorecard before getting run out by Rumman Raees at the last ball of the innings.
