Senate body recommends early return of FATA people

ISLAMABAD: Senate Special Committee on Marginalized Segments on Tuesday recommended the departments concerned to take measures for early return of IDPs of FATA.

Senate body met here under the chairmanship of Senator Nisar Muhammad and attended by other members.

Committee Convener Nisar Muhammad observed that if the funds from coalition funds was spent on return of FATA citizens they wouldn't more stay in camps.

He said if the situation in Sought Waziristan and FATA was under control then why the citizens of two agencies couldn't be sent back to their homes.

The committee recommended to further strengthen the civil administration of the area to ensure return of FATA people.

The body also recommended to increase compensation funds for the construction of destroyed houses.

The Committee Convener also directed to give identity to the shemale community in accordance of Islamic laws and take measures to provide rights to this deprived section.

The body decided to summon the representatives of shemale community in next meeting.

The meeting was attended by other senators including Sajjad Turi, Samina Abid, Zafrullah Dhandla, Sitara Ayaz, Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, Senator Sitara Ayaz and officials of Ministry of Human Rights, CADD and Law and Justice.
