ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Ministry of Interior on Tuesday approved issuance of red warrants against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain.

According to a statement issued here today, Altaf Hussain is wanted in various cases, including terrorism in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court has directed to ensure his presence before the court during next hearing against him.

Last month, the court had issued important directives to the interior ministry in a case of anti-state speeches and media houses attack.

Dozens of cases are pending before ATCs against the MQM founder across the country.

Following the August 22 hate speech that resulted in attacks on media houses in Karachi last year, several anti-terrorism courts across Pakistan had issued non-bailable warrants against the MQM founder.
