KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Tuesday having 49859.39 points with a positive change of 229.35 and volume of 120,469,180 shares.

High and Low were 49920.26 and 49630.04 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 397,226,310 shares with 393 total traded companies out of which 235 were up 142 were down and 16 were unchanged.

CHEMICAL was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 76,838,740 shares. It was followed by TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION with a total traded volume of 41,428,500 shares.

The three top traded companies were Lotte Chemical with a volume of 50,317,500 and price per share of 11.10 (0.65), TRG Pak Ltd with a volume 26,432,000 of price per share of 62.88 (1.67), Power Cement Ltd. with a volume 19,431,500 of price per share of 16.57 (1.00).

The top three advancers were Sanofi-Aventis with price per share 2778.15 (132.29), Abbott Lab. with price per share of 1063.16 (50.62) and Packages Ltd. share of 881.95 (26.45).

The top three decliners were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 4571.00 (102.40), Hinopak Motor with price per share of 1706.67 (43.33) and Pak Tobacco share of 1200.00 (38.99).
