PSL 'Spirit Trophy' unveiled to the cricketing world

The 'Spirit Trophy' unveiling event was attended by the captains of the five franchises, former cricketers and PSL Chairman Najam Sethi.

During the press conference, the captains of all the franchises claimed that the trophy belongs to them. "The trophy (Spirit Trophy) belongs to us in Lahore," stated Lahore Qalandars skipper Brendon McCullum. To which Sethi replied that whoever, wins the tournament the trophy would finally return home i.e. Pakistan.

"Off course these gentlemen are going to fight and as well they should. But in the end of the day the bride (trophy) has to come home. i.e. the Pakistan Cricket Board," stated Sethi on a light note, during the event.

The PSL 2nd edition 'Spirit Trophy' took a total of four months to make, informed PCB. The trophy dazzles with crystal fine rocks using over 50,000 double pointed crystals. At the top is the Shooting Star, a multi-faceted crystal sculpture.

Other than the Spirit Trophy, the 'Hanif Mohammad Award for the Best Batsman' was also unveiled by none other than Misbah UL Haq, Kumar Sangakkara and Brendon McCullum.

Whereas, Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed unveiled 'Imtiaz Ahmed Award for the Best Wicketkeeper'. Karachi Kings Shoaib Malik got the chance to reveal the 'Man of the Tournament Award' for HBL PSL II.

The 2nd edition of the PSL will kick off on February 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
