KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Monday having 48972.24 points with a negative change of 991.53 and volume of 184,148,610 shares.

High and Low were 50339.93 and 48836.50 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 389,735,760 shares with 402 total traded companies out of which 75 were up 316 were down and 11 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 44,264,700 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING with a total traded volume of 43,915,300 shares.

The three top traded companies were Lotte Chemical with a volume of 14,791,500 and price per share of 9.06 (0.30), Ist.Dawood Bank with a volume 5,701,000 of price per share of 7.03 (0.04), Oil & Gas Dev. with a volume 4,928,800 of price per share of 157.66 (2.40).

The top three advancers were Unilever Foods with price per share 6000.00 (100.00), Thal Ind.Corp.XD with price per share of 554.98 (20.53) and Colgate Palmolive share of 1730.00 (20.00).

The top three decliners were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 4264.63 (224.45), Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 2490.67 (109.33) and Mari Petroleum share of 1332.76 (70.14).
