HAMBURG: A private South Korean crushing mill purchased 165,000 tonnes of soybeans to be sourced from Brazil in a tender which closed on Tuesday, European traders said on Wednesday.

The soybeans can contain genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) and were bought in three 55,000 tonne consignments for April/June shipment, traders said.

The first consignment for shipment from Brazil between April 10-30 was purchased at a premium of 122.35 US cents c&f over the Chicago May soybean contract.

The second consignment for shipment May 5-24 from Brazil was bought at 116.88 cents c&f over the Chicago July soybean contract.

The third consignment for shipment May 25-June 13 was bought at 122.38 cents c&f over the Chicago July soybean contract.

US soybean futures this week fell back from a 6-month high hit on Jan. 18 as concern eases about possible weather damage to Argentina's crop.
