City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has opened New Hassan Square Flyover, New MA Jinnah Road and Shahrah-e-Pakistan for the vehicular traffic before the Eid-ul-Azha. The formal inauguration of Hassan Square Flyover and other projects would be done later, he said.
This he was said after paying a visit to review development projects on late Saturday night and opened the Hassan Square Flyover for vehicular traffic.
The city Nazim said the opening of new projects, including flyovers and roads were the Eid and New Year gifts for the citizens from Haq Parast leadership.
The Hassan Square Flyover project worth Rs490 million was started in June 2005 and completed in the record time of five and half months as such projects in the past were completed in years.
The New MA Jinnah Road from Quaid's Mausoleum to Jail Chowrangi and Shahrah-e-Pakistan from Sohrab Goth to Karimabad have been completed and opened for the traffic to facilitate the citizens on Eid.
The Nazim said the opening of new mega projects had been started and the citizens would hear the good news regarding the development projects continually.
He said that the citizens faced a lot of hurdles during the constructions of these projects but now when they travel on these roads, flyovers and underpass they would enjoy calm and relaxation. "The hardships which facing by citizens during the last couple of months would bring ease in their life for the next 50 years as the city had entered into a new era of development and prosperity," he stated.
He further mentioned that the other projects of signal-free Corridor would be completed within couple of weeks.
"After the completion of ongoing projects, the corridor would be a role model and beautiful corridor in the city", he mentioned.
He, however, said that the City government would kick off the other corridor soon.
