NAB held Chairman Telephone Industries in fake plots allotment case

PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday arrested accused Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah, Chairman Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) Limited, Haripur allegedly involved in illegal allotment of plots in TIP Housing Scheme and caused loss of Rs. 360 million to public exchequer.

The accused person will be presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.

A spokesman for NAB KP said that Telephone Industries Pakistan Cooperative Housing Society and Housing Scheme is built on around 1025 Kanal land with approved Master Plan that further bifurcates between residential area 560 Kanal and area reserved for amenities 406 Kanal.

The accused Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah illegally changed the Master Plan without the approval of competent authority, illegitimately converted amenity sites into residential plots of different sizes i.e. 5, 7, 10 and 20 Marla and issued illegally 145 allotment letters in TIP Housing Scheme. The accused Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah is also the beneficiary of scheme too.
