ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Wednesday asked the minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination to present progress report on Thursday to the house on setting up Council of Common Interests (CCI) permanent secretariat in the Capital and appointment of staff in it.

Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada apprised the house that the matter was discussed in the Cabinet meeting held on December 15.

However, the decision was still awaited, he added.

He said a summery had been sent to the Cabinet for financial implication on setting up of the CCI's Secretariat.

He said approval to set up the Secretariat in the Capital would be taken in next Cabinet meeting.

Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid said it was cleared under Article 154 that there would be permanent secretariat of CCI.
