No room for sit-ins, politics of agitation in country: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said there wis no room for sit-ins and politics of chaos in the country.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said the opposition parties should have avoided the protests and sit with the government while working for election reforms to make electoral process more transparent.

He said the people of Pakistan had rejected negative politics of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and that its image as a political party was damaged due to constantly changing stance and taking U-turns.

Replying to a question, he said the matter of Panama Papers was sub-judice so it could not be discussed on any other forum.

Ahsan Iqbal said people of the country wanted stability and peace as they were fed up with the politics of agitation by PTI.

He said political parties should focus to make people prosperous in the provinces where they were given mandate.

The minister said return of former president Asif Ali Zardari was not a big news however he should play his role for the welfare of the country.

Pakistan Peoples Party should learn from Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's politics of agitation and sit-ins, he said.

To another query, he said people would decide through their votes in 2018 that who was better for them and country.
