LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for being non-maintainable.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the petition filed by a local resident Faisal Naseer.

The court had reserved the verdict on maintainability of the plea and it was announced in open court today.

The petitioner through its petition pointed out corruption and incompetency in the government institutions and held Prime Minister and Punjab Chief Minister responsible for the mess.

He requested the court to declare both Sharif brothers disqualified.
