Pakistan demolish CA XI by 201 runs

Pakistan achieved a clinical victory over Cricket Australia XI, in their only day-night warm up match on Saturday at Cairns.

Pakistanis won by 201 runs, after the hosts were wiped out on 109 in their second inning, while chasing a target of 311 runs.

The CA XI were overwhelmed by Pakistan pace attack.However, spinner Muhammad Nawaz was the pick of the bowler, after he grabbed three wickets in his spell of eight overs.

Fellow pace bowlers Muhammad Amir and Rahat Ali trapped two batsman a piece, while Wahab Riaz and Azhar Ali picked one wicket, respectively.

Arjun Nair was the top scorer for CA XI with 42 runs, while no other batsman was able to get pass 20 runs, with six batsmen losing their wickets on single digit.

Pakistan too didnt have the best of openings n their second innings, after Sami Aslam was caged by Steklee on 12 runs, but it was Azhar Alis patient inning of 82 runs that drive Pakistan to a respectable score of 216 losing six wickets in process.

Pakistan is scheduled to play its first Test match against Australia on 15th December at the Gabba, Brisbane.
